Food hygiene complaints

We investigate complaints regarding food hygiene at any site where food is sold or manufactured.

Making a complaint

To make a food complaint please contact Peterborough direct, when making a complaint we will require the following information:

  • your name, address and telephone number
  • proof of purchase where relevant
  • storage of the food i.e in a refrigerator or freezer  
  • the best time to contact you
  • as much of the food as possible
  • the name and address of the business in question          
  • details of foreign body, if applicable (please retain any foreign bodies)
  • brief details of what the complaint is about
  • packaging (please retain any packaging)

You can of  course deal with a complaint yourself by returning to the trader concerned and explaining your problelm.  It is also a good idea to put your complaint in writing and always keep a copy of the letter.

Confidentiality

All complaints will be treated in the strictest confidence.  We will not disclose any of your personal details without your permission to do so (we many not be able, however, to take any formal or legal action without this information).  We will endeavour to inform you of progress of the investigation and will advise you of the final outcome.
