Free video and DVD loan service
Local businesses are offered a helping hand to comply with
health and safety law through our own free
video/DVD loan service. A variety of useful health and safety
videos / DVD's are available for hire, free of charge, to
businesses located within the district. These can prove to be
useful in assisting with staff training needs or to help managers
and appointed persons update their knowledge. Current titles

Free health and safety information pack
The new business
information pack contains a selection of useful health and
safety leaflets, as well as information on other sources of
health and safety guidance. The pack is ideal for people who are
just starting up a new business, or where a business has grown and
additional guidance is required. The information pack contents
details the information contained in the pack, which is available
on request using the contact details at the bottom of this
page.
The Health and Safety Executive's information line may also be
contacted for specific advice on 08701 545500, the
Health and Safety Executive website is
a useful source of information.
Health and safety information in other languages
For those whose first language is other than English, the Health
and Safety Executive provide a number of useful leaflets in
other languages, on subjects such as general guidance for
employees, gas appliances, construction, slips and trips and risk
assessment.
Guidance on organising safe events
If you are responsible for organising events such as car boot
fairs, craft shows, entertainment, fetes, etc you will find this
guidance useful, as it provides essential information to help
ensure that the event is run safely. It provides advise on matters
such as stewarding, fire safety, emergency planning, welfare
facilities etc. (It does not provide guidance on the Licensing of
such events.)
