Licensing policy - three year review

Section 5 of the Licensing Act 2003 requires each Licensing Authority to prepare and publish a Statement of Licensing Policy which sets out how it will exercise its licensing functions under the Act.

Under the Licensing Act 2003, as Licensing Authority, we are required to produce a Statement of Licensing Policy, which sets out how we have interpreted the Act and the basis on which decisions are to be made.

From 16 August to 11 October 2010 we consulted on our draft revised Statement of Licensing Policy and the changes that had been proposed to it.  The reviewed policy was formally adopted by Full Council on 8 December 2010.

A further review was carried out and subsequently consulted on from 21 January to 04 March 2013 to incorporate a special policy.  The special policy was formally approved at a meeting of the Full Council on 17 April 2013 and took effect on 18 April 2013.
