Have you considered adopting a child but then put it to the back
of your mind? Do you have a loving home which you could offer a
child in need of adoption?
We appreciate that choosing to adopt a child is not a decision
to be taken lightly. Many people think about adoption for a long
time before they contact us. We hope these pages will provide you
with the information you need, explain the support we are able to
give you, and help you to feel more informed and ready to take the
next step.
Typically, the city council needs to find 20 to 30 homes for
adoptive children each year. Homes are needed for children of all
ages and there is also a need for people who can adopt sibling
groups, children with disabilities or health problems and children
from black and ethnic minority backgrounds.
We appreciate that choosing to care for a child is not a decision to take lightly. We will be with you all of the way, offering help, encouragement, support and guidance
