Good for safeguarding a positive report on Peterborough City Council Adoption Agency.

The key points from the 2011 Ofsted inspection:

  • Increased number of children requiring adoptive families.
  • Good information and training.
  • Careful and robust assessments.
  • Social workers identify and set out children's needs well.
  • Strong oversight of the professional practice.
  • Children who require adoption are matched with families who are suitable and well prepared to meet their needs.
  • People requiring post adoption support are provided with a service that aims to meet their needs.
  • The promotion of equality and diversity is good.
  • The service has ready access to specialist advice and information including medical advisor and psychologists.

A continuously improving service which strives to improve the outcomes for children identified for adoption within Peterborough.  A service which works closely with its partners in placing children and supporting them and their families.
