Facilities available
Charteris Playcentre consists of a main room where we organise
the following activities for the children:
- pool table
- table tennis table
- computer area
- soft play structure
- art and craft activities
- games and sports
- messy play
The fully fitted kitchen is where we do the cooking activities
and make tea for our visitors. We also have a large soft play room
where the children can burn off excess energy after school. When
the weather is nice we go outside onto Woodfield Park where we have
access to an all weather multi-use games area, a playground with
swings, climbing equipment and a skate park. We have strong links
with an environmental agency who work with the children so that
they are able to experience and look after wetlands in the local
area. We link up with other playcentres for activities such as
discos and sports tournaments and are lucky enough to have the
support of the local community who help with all our projects
including seaside trips and new equipment.
Charteris offers a warm and friendly atmosphere where children
are encouraged to plan and participate in new activities, play
together and support each other. Parents often stay and take
part in the many activities on offer, their support is valued and
we encourage all members of the community to visit the centre and
meet the friendly staff and discover the work that is undertaken in
their locality. We are always looking for people with new
skills and ideas to bring to the playcentres so if you have some
spare time and would like to help us out please get in touch for
more information; all help is much appreciated and it is a very
rewarding way to spend your spare time.
We are here for your children and we try to ensure that,
wherever possible, the children choose the activities they want to
do; we want your children to have fun and enjoy our
playcentres.
