Direct work with young people

This event is designed to develop practitioner skills of direct work with children and young people.

Practitioners across all children's sectors

1 full day session

Pre-requisites

A genuine interest in seeking to understand the child’s world and experience through a number of media.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • identify the main theories of direct work with children;
  • be practiced in a number of techniques to use in their Direct Work with children and young people;
  • be competent with the administration of the DoH Adolescent Wellbeing Scale and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (i.e. be able to score them);
  • understand the possible impact of various attachment ‘styles’ on the way the work may be conducted;
  • have an insight into the personal impact of using the methods

Event fee

Free to all members of the Peterborough Children's Trust.  For all other profit making organisations and organisations outside the Peterborough area a charge of £100 per delegate will be applied.
