Writing social stories

Social stories are an established intervention used successfully in a number of Peterborough schools. They are designed to help children with social and communication problems understand situations that may be causing them confusion, leading to anxiety and perhaps behavioural difficulties.

Audience  

Practitioners across all children's sectors

Duration 

2 half day sessions

None

Learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • learn about the theories behind the social stories approach
  • practice writing social stories
  • be encouraged to put the approach into practice

Event fee

Free to all members of the Peterborough Children's Trust.  For all other profit making organisations and organisations outside the Peterborough area a charge of £100 per delegate will be applied.

  • 15 May 2012, 9.30am to 12.30pm followed by  26 June 2012, 9.30am to 11.30am
