Introduction to child protection

This event is an introductory session for safeguarding children and young people, it is appropriate for any member of staff working within a children and young people setting.

Audience  

Staff in all children’s service sectors (with exception of education and voluntary sector*)

Duration 

1 half day session

None

Learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • be able to recognise what constitutes child abuse
  • be able to respond appropriately to disclosure by a child
  • know the first steps to take when concerned that a child is being abused
  • understand the importance of information sharing: how it can help and the dangers of not sharing information
  • know where to find their local policies and procedures

Event fee

Free to all members of the Peterborough Children's Trust.  For all other profit making organisations and organisations outside the Peterborough area a charge of £50 per delegate will be applied.
