How we support you in fostering
The fostering service has a dedicated team that focuses on
support for and supervision of carers. We understand that caring
for children can be demanding and that's why we supply you with a
wide range of support. This helps you provide a high standard of
care for the children you look after and helps you develop new
personal skills.
As a foster carer you will have your own social worker who
will be able to offer you support, guidance and access to
other professionals to help you as much as possible during your
time as a carer. We organise a number of social events that
help develop a supportive culture between carers.
We provide every carer with a foster care handbook which helps
guide you in your role. There is an emergency duty team that
operates out of office to help you should an emergency arise. As a
valued member of the fostering team you will be consulted on the
support you receive and your views sought on new ideas to improve
our service and the way we care for you.
