News and events

Following the success of the 2009 Peterborough Film Awards, work is already under way towards next year’s awards; the 2010 categories, including guidelines, entry forms and criteria can be found by following the link to the 2010 film awards page.

The Young People’s film awards evening will be held on Wednesday 7 July and Children’s on Thursday 8 July. Both nights are once again being hosted by KingsGate Community Church in Parnwell.

The Co-operative film festival

Each year The Co-operative gives young people aged 19 and under the chance to have their short films shown on the big screen at the prestigious The Co-operative Film Festival, formerly known as Co-operative Young Film-Makers.

This is a unique opportunity to see your work and that of others, in the cinema of a landmark national venue, the National Media Museum in Bradford.

National Schools Film and Animation Awards

The National Schools Film and Animation Awards were held at the BFI London on 23 November 2009.

Now in its second year, the National Film Awards are open to 4-16 year olds and are split into film, animation and mixed media (film and animation) categories. Films entered can be any style or topic, but are judged on content, engagement with the audience, originality and quality/skillful use of technology.

We are delighted to announce that that Peterborough’s very own, The Voyager School, was shortlisted for a nomination for their films Around the World in 7 Moves (KS3) and Holocaust (KS4), which were a huge success at the Peterborough Young People’s film awards at KingsGate.

Please check the TAG learning website early next year for details of the 2010 awards.
