Determined scheme 2012

Admissions Policy Consultation for September 2012 Admissions to Peterborough Schools

Each year the City Council must consult on, determine and publish its admission arrangements for those schools for which they are the Admission Authority.  Peterborough City Council is the Admission Authority for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools.  For Academies, Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools, the Governors are the Admission Authority for the school.

In addition, we must consult on and publish a Coordinated Admission Scheme for all Peterborough Primary and Secondary Schools.

It is possible for parents to object to the Schools Adjudicator about the final version of a policy determined by the City Council or Governors of a Foundation or Voluntary Aided School, provided this is done within six weeks of the policy appearing on this website.  Any objection to an Academy's admission arrangements must be considered by the Secretary of State.

Peterborough City Council Admission Authority has now consulted upon their admission arrangements (the admission policies and admission numbers) and the Coordinated Scheme to apply to the children joining schools for the first time in September 2012.  This covers admission to Reception Year, Year 2 to Year 3 transfer between Infant and Junior/Primary schools, Year 7 and Year 12.

The determined arrangements are now available to view below.

If there are any comments you wish to make then please do not hesitate to contact the officer named below.

The Schools Admissions Code states that these final admission arrangements MUST be determined by 15 April and published within 14 days.

Copies of the admissions arrangements for the other Admissions Authorities within the Peterborough City Council area are also available below.  (Not all schools have forwarded their admission arrangements to the LA at this time.  Uploads will be made on receipt of other schools’ admission arrangements.)  Comments on any of these should be addressed to the school themselves.

Peterborough City Council is continually working to create sufficient school places for the rising number of children coming into the educational system.  It may be necessary to issue further statutory notices in relation to our short and medium term plans in order to establish new schools and/or to change the arrangements as published here.
