Head of Equality & Governance
Has strategic management responsibility for
school governor development and support within the Local Authority.
Ensures that governing bodies and their clerks receive the
information, guidance and training they need to fulfil their
statutory role. The Head of Equality &
Governance has overall management responsibility for the work of
the Governor Services Team and the LA Clerking Service.
Assistant Governor Services Manager
Manages the day to day operational activities
of the Governor Services Team. Is responsible for producing local
governor team publications, managing the production of the governor
training programme, arranging tutors for training sessions, the
governor website page, the provision of governor recruitment
materials to schools and liaison with the school governor one stop
shop (SGOSS).
Business Support Assistant
Is the first port of call for telephone
enquiries and runs the Governor Helpline and is responsible for
producing training materials, co-ordinating courses,
administering the governor development programme, updating the
website and prepares welcome packs for new governors.
Notification of governor appointments; and ensuring information
held on the governor database is accurate and up to date.
Business Support Officer
Is responsible for collating data for
performance monitoring and benchmarking and is also
responsible for producing training materials . The governor
services administrator liaises with clerks to ensure: governing
body minutes are forwarded to the LA each term; the administration
of list 99 checks. Arranges in-house training sessions and updates
the website.
