Electronic book of remembrance

All inscriptions in the book of remembrance are available for on-screen viewing.

For many years, the Book of Remembrance has offered a traditional and permanent means of commemorating the lives of loved ones cremated at Peterborough Crematorium.

Until recently, however, as entries in the book are arranged on an anniversary basis, inscriptions were only available for viewing on one day each year. Now using a personal access card, any inscription in the Book of Remembrance can be viewed on any day during the normal opening hours of the crematorium.

All inscriptions in the books are available for on-screen viewing. For inscriptions added after 1 April 2004, applicants will automatically receive one viewing card per Book of Remembrance inscription application. Further cards can be purchased for other family members upon request.

For those entries inscribed prior to 1 April 2004, viewing cards can be purchased on application.

The first screen accessed by a viewing card will show the individual inscription, together with some surrounding entries, as they appear in the book.

Up to a maximum of four additional screens can then be added to each card for an extra charge. These screens are compiled from material, text and/or photographs, supplied by the applicant.
