How to pay

Council Tax is due on the 1st of each month by 10 monthly instalments from April to January each financial year. Failure to pay your Council Tax by the due date could lead to you losing your right to pay by instalments.

If you would like to pay by Direct debit

This is the Council's preferred method of payment as this is the most efficient and cost effective means.

Pay your council tax free of charge by taking your bill to any of the 50 plus retail outlets displaying the Payzone sign in the Peterborough area or any UK post office. Payzone outlets and Post Offices can be found by using the following links:

Cheques and postal orders should be crossed and made payable to PETERBOROUGH CITY COUNCIL and sent to:

Write your name, address and council tax number on the reverse of the cheque. If you require a receipt you must enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Do not send cash.
