Community Governance Review
A community governance review is a review of the whole or part
of the principal council’s area for the purpose of making
recommendations with regard to creating, merging or abolishing
parishes, the naming of parishes, the electoral arrangements of
parishes and grouping arrangements for parishes.
Hampton Hargate & Vale
The Peterborough (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order
2010. Peterborough City Council has undertaken a Community
Governance Review of Hampton Hargate and Hampton Vale. The review
was carried out in response to a petition to create a new parish
council of Hampton Hargate and Vale.
The review considered whether the existing
arrangements are reflective of the identities and interests of the
community in that area; and effective and convenient to the local
authority. It also took into account the impact of community
governance arrangements on community cohesion; and the size,
population and boundaries.
The council has concluded the final stage to
the review and made a Reorganisation Order.
