Our performance

The City’s vision is

"A bigger and better Peterborough that grows the right way, and through truly sustainable development and growth…"

Our vision is linked to a number of shared local and national priorities that have been developed whilst working with our partners, central government and our communities, as set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy. These are:

  • creating the UK’s environment capital
  • creating strong and supportive communities
  • delivering substantial and truly sustainable growth
  • creating opportunities and tackling inequalities

In order to achieve these priorities it is essential that we provide accessible, effective and efficient services whilst ensuring council tax rises remain as low as possible. We use 'performance indicators' to set targets and to measure performance in these areas. Regular monitoring of these indicators ensures that we are meeting our objectives.
