Previous Mayors of Peterborough

There is no shortage of former mayors currently sitting in the council chamber.

Peterborough councillors Cllr Holdich, Cllr Lowndes, Cllr Nash, Cllr Todd and Cllr Swift have all been Mayor of Peterborough. In fact, Cllr Swift, who held the position in 1961/62, was following in the footsteps of his mother Maud, who was mayor a few years earlier.  And the position of mayor could be said to have been a family affair as Audrey Chalmers, Cllr Swift's sister and his mother Maud Swift, was also mayor.
