Transforming public services
In 2006 we set ourselves a challenging
target of delivering £24 million efficiency savings over five
years. Through the Business Transformation Programme, we
are on target to
achieve £48 million cumulative savings
by March 2011, a return on our investment of £5
for every £1 spent, stable or improved performance
of frontline services and one of the lowest
council tax increases out of all unitary authorities in the
country.
Business transformation is about fundamentally changing the way we work and working smarter so that services are better, quicker, cheaper and simpler to access.
There are seven key areas we are looking at ranging from small to large scale projects.
