One-stop-shop to provide access to all council services

From Monday 2 February 2009, all enquiries on planning, building control and licensing issues should be directed to Peterborough City Council's customer service centre at Bayard Place.
Those with queries for the trading standards, environmental health, environmental management and transportation and development teams should also visit the centre, in Broadway, Peterborough.

Bridge House, on Town Bridge, where enquiries on most of these issues were previously dealt with, will close to the public at 5pm on Thursday 29 January 2009.

In addition, from Monday 16 February, Chauffeur's Cottage, behind the town hall, will also be closed to the public and people with parking queries and fines to pay should visit Bayard Place.

Peterborough City Council's head of customer services Mark Sandhu said: "The new one-stop shop approach is a big step forward for customers, meaning they can access all council services from a single point of contact.

"In the past, some customers said they were unsure which council premises to visit to get answers to their questions. Now, whatever the query, they will be able to get help at Bayard Place."

The customer service centre at Bayard Place is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. The cash office closes at 2pm.
