Environmental Stewardship is an agri-environment scheme
that provides funding to farmers towards land management, including
the protection of the historic environment and natural resources.
The scheme includes the following:
- Entry Level Stewardship (ELS) provides a straightforward
approach to supporting the stewardship of the countryside. It is
open to all farmers
- Organic Entry Level Stewardship (OELS) is the organic
equivalent of ELS and is open to all farmers not receiving Organic
Farming Scheme aid
- Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) involves more complex types of
management and agreements set against specific local targets
Peterborough Archaeological
Services provides advice to farmers and landowners on
grant-aided management of the historic landscape.
