What is the council doing to reduce carbon?

Climate change is becoming increasingly prominent in all aspects of political life.  Media coverage is helping to raise awareness and instigate action at a local and global level.  Everyone in Peterborough has a part to play in reducing the impact of climate change, but the council also acknowledges that it must put its own house in order whilst asking others to do the same.  Chief Executive of Peterborough City Council, Gillian Beasley, has produced a film called “Gillian’s Footprint Counts – what about yours?” which illustrates the environmental impact of her every day actions and how simple changes can have a huge impact on our environment.

The following pages outline our carbon reporting requirements and plan of action for reducing C02 emissions across our operations.
