Flyposting

We are responsible for controlling flyposting, the illegal and unauthorised display of posters, stickers, placard advertising, 'A' frames and promotional material on buildings and street furniture.

What's wrong with flyposting?

Flyposting is:

  • illegal and clearing it up costs the tax payers money
  • unsafe as some types, particular placards and 'A' frames cause a danger to the public
  • unsightly, flyposting indicates a neglected neighbourhood and increases the level and fear of crime

Residents can report flyposting by calling Peterborough Direct on 01733 747474, or it can be reported on line report  flyposting.   Please be specific with the location of the offending flyposter to allow our environmental enforcement officers to investigate.

What action does our enforcement team take?

  • the offender will be fined
  • the posters removed
  • warning letters will be sent
  • a formal caution will be issued
  • prosecutions will be made
