Graffiti

Graffiti is vandalism and is a very expensive problem, removal of graffiti in the United Kingdom costs over one billion pounds a year.

We will remove graffiti from all of the following areas:

  • public buildings
  • public conveniences
  • bus shelters
  • underpasses
  • bridges/flyovers
  • street furniture
  • municipal housing estates and garages
  • traffic signs
  • highways

What action will can be taken?

The council will issue defacement removal notices to businesses to ensure compliance. The Police Authority have powers under the Criminal Damage Act to deal with perpetrators of the offence.
