Making an appointment

To make an appointment you must first complete an application form which you can either get online or from our customer services reception at Bayard Place. You must then pay your fee at the cash office in Bayard Place, and obtain a receipt (please be aware of the cash office opening times).

You must then contact us on 01733 863766 or 453571 (you may use the free internal telephones at Bayard Place for this) and make an appointment for an officer to inspect the house where the sponsored person will live when they arrive in Peterborough. You are advised to make the appointment as soon as possible, at least 28 days before the anticipated visa application date to the relevant embassy, consulate or high commission.

You should bear in mind that the inspection may take place up to two weeks after the appointment is made. You should also allow time to carry out any remedial works identified before the property could be considered satisfactory. After the inspection has been carried out a written report of the assessment will be sent to you within 10 days of the visit. This will make sure that there will be no delay in dealing with the visa application because you have not submitted the documents relating to the residence. We do not take responsibility for any late or incomplete applications made.
