Choice based lettings
All of the properties which become available through
with the housing associations in the Peterborough homes partnership
are advertised through the choice based lettings scheme.
Choice based lettings is a way of allocating social
housing. It gives people seeking accommodation with a social
landlord the choice of the type of property and area of the city
they would like to live.
We allocate properties on behalf of the partner housing
associations in the Peterborough Homes partnership. Each week our
partners advise us which properties are available to let and we
advertise them. The advert is usually released on Tuesdays and the
edition closes on the following Sunday at midnight.
If you have a live application on the Peterborough Housing
register you can express interest (place a bid) in the properties
which you would like to be considered for. You may bid for up to 3
properties per week.
On the Monday after the edition closes we generate a shortlist of the applicants who have expressed interest in each property.
Before you place a bid on a property you need to make sure that the property is the right size.
Adverts for lettings can be found in a number of places providing plenty of opportunity for you to keep up to date with all of the available properties.
Refusing an offer of accomodation will not generally affect your status in most cases.
