Social housing in Peterborough is in extremely short supply, we
currently have 9,949 live applications on our register. Last year
we allocated 1,574 properties, but also took 3,280 new applications
for housing. Most people who apply for housing will not be
successful with an allocation of accommodation.
If you would like to apply to join the Peterborough housing
register you will need to complete an application form. Once
completed you have to present in person to us at the
Customer Services centre at Bayard Place, Broadway,
Peterborough. You will also have to bring all of the documentation
listed on pages 2 and 3 of the application form so we can
confirm you're eligible and correctly determine how your
application should be prioritised on the register.
Anyone aged 16 or over (including those with no fixed abode) may
be placed on the housing register except for:
- people from abroad subject to immigration
control or regulations
- people prescribed as ineligible by
regulations made by the Secretary of State
- people we consider to be unsuitable to be
tenants due to unacceptable behaviour

Once you have been accepted onto the housing register your
application will be assessed and prioritised in accordance with our
allocations policy and placed into one of five bands. Your
position in the band is determined by the date you entered the
band. Your housing application will remain in that band unless your
circumstances change. You are required to advise us of any
changes as it may be necessary to reprioritise your
application.
Please Note: If you currently a tenant of a Housing Association
in Peterborough you will need to approach them for written
authorisation to apply to join the housing register.
