Application process
We encourage applicants to search and apply for jobs online as this is a
quick and reliable way of ensuring that your application has been
received by the right person.
To apply for a vacancy, you will need to login or register. Your
personal account (“My Account”) is unique to you and can only be
accessed by your username and password. If you forget your
password you can select to receive an e-mail reminder.
If you require a hard copy of the application form, email the
recruitment team at hrsupport@peterborough.gov.uk
or contact us on 01733 747474.
Completing your application
Once you have logged in, you can complete the application form
page by page. On each page, you will be able to select ‘save’,
‘previous’ or ‘next’. All these buttons will save the application
form.
You can save partially completed application forms and return to
them at any stage of the process (providing the vacancy is still
open, the deadline has not passed and you have not already
submitted your form). There is no limit to the number of times you
can do this.
A 'time-out' in the application form is set to 180 minutes
(three hours) per page. You will need to save the page within this
time if you think you will need longer to complete the page.
On the final page, the ‘next’ button is replaced by a ‘save and
preview’ button which shows the complete application form. There is
a button at the end allowing you to submit the completed
application form. A button is also available for you to print a
hard copy version of your application form.
Receipt of your application
Once the online application form has been submitted, you will
receive an acknowledgement email of receipt. You can also open a
printer-friendly version of ‘proof of receipt’. In both cases a
reference number (application ID) will be provided which should be
quoted if you have a query regarding your application.
Applying for another job
Should you wish to apply for another position, the information
saved from your most recent application will be available for
future applications through “My Account’’. You will be able to view
all previous applications submitted/partially completed and use
that information for subsequent applications.
For more information about the process that is
followed once applications are submitted, visit
The recruitment process website page.
