Earn extra cash before Christmas - canvas for your city

The council has opened recruitment for canvassers to help carry out its annual audit of the electoral register to ensure everyone who is entitled to vote in all types of elections is registered and able to do so.

The canvassing process involves visiting households in Peterborough over a two-week period from Saturday 15 to Monday 31 October to collect completed electoral registration forms. The information that is collected from the forms provides the data for the electoral register.

You must be available to work throughout the period between Saturday 15 to Monday 31 October during the evenings and weekends and be available to attend a two hour training session either in the morning or the afternoon on Friday 7 October.

Potential canvassers will:

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be active and physically fit
  • Be professional, tactful and polite
  • Be reliable and honest
  • Have clear, legible handwriting and good attention to detail
  • Be eligible to work in the UK

Payment will be performance related. For a full job description and person specification and further information about the canvasser role please download the forms below.
