Final year bursary scheme
Peterborough City Council offers a limited number of bursaries,
whereby we pay a one off payment towards your study costs during
the final year of your course. In return for this, you agree
to take up employment with the Council for a minimum of 2 years
following completion of your qualification.

What does the scheme provide?
Peterborough City Council is offering a £4,000 retainer to
students about to enter their final year of study for a Social Work
qualification. Upon acceptance of the scheme and completion of the
award, the student will have application priority to qualified
social worker posts that are available within Peterborough
Children’s Social Care department.
To apply for the scheme you will need to complete a student
bursary application form prior to your final 12 months of
study and send it to the address on the form. You may
also need to attend and interview and if successful you will be
required to sign a sponsorship agreement.
