If you are an experienced (qualified) teacher
who is looking for supply teaching opportunities you can apply
via Education Personnel Management. If you
are a newly qualified teacher who would like to work in a
Peterborough school you have two options open to you. You can
apply to schools directly through Education Personnel
Management or you can submit a general application to our newly
qualified teacher recruitment database. If you would like to become
a teacher, please visit our routes into teaching page.
Trained outside the European Economic area
Teachers who are trained outside the
European Economic Area may work for up to four years in
the UK without needing to gain Qualified Teacher Status, after that
time you must have Qualified Teacher Status to continue
teaching. Providing an overseas trained teacher is employed in
a school as a teacher they gain Qualified Teacher Status via
the
Overseas Trained Teaching Programme. Overseas trained
teachers who are not currently employed by a school will first need
to find a teaching post. We do not provide a service to find
jobs for overseas trained teachers. You can find details of
vacancies from Education Personnel Management, Times
Educational Supplement, local newspapers and Tuesday's
Guardian.
You will also need to be eligible for a work
permit and be resident in the country, you
can check your
eligibility for a work permit at Work Permits UK. If you
hold the correct qualifications and permits, are in the UK or about
to move here, and would like the opportunity to gain QTS through
the OTT route, you must secure a post within one of Peterborough's
schools.
Trained inside the European Economic area
If you have qualified as a teacher inside the
European Economic area and wish to teach in the UK, mobility laws
apply and you can access teaching positions in the same way as UK
trained teachers.
