The Outlaw Varjak Paw, by S.F Said
It's about a
cat called Varjak and his friends in the city. The city is being
taken over by an evil thin white cat called Sally Bones, and it's
up to Varjak, the only cat who can fight like her to save everyone.
With guidance from Jalal and some friends, Varjak is
victorious.
What sticks out most in my mind is Sally Bones evil punishment
cutting off a cat's ears and tail it's so horrible! Sally is PURE
EVIL and I'm really glad Varjak beats her.(Anne, 12)
You're a bad man, Mr Gum, by Andy Stanton
Fantastic.
(Jacob)
It's about a nasty man called Mr Gum who hates children, sweets
and nice things. He has a plot to poison Jake, the lovely dog, but
a little girl with a very very long name is out to stop him. (Anne,
12)
Lee Raven Boy Thief, by Zizou Corder
It's about a
magic book that is thousands of years old and tells a different
story every time you read it. Lee raven has stolen it by accident,
but he becomes rather attached to it and doesn't want to give it
up, especially not to the secretly evil children's writer Nigella
Lurch.
The book is set in the future and lots of stuff has happened.
Norfolk has sunk into the sea and petrol has been banned.
Five out of five, really good (Anne)
