Storytimes and rhymetimes
Storytimes are held regularly for under 5's, their
parents and carers, providing an opportunity for them to share
stories and for library staff to promote books and reading.
Storytime is a chance to encourage young children with a life-long
love of books from an early age, with some old favourite stories
and characters as well as some new titles. Storytimes are held
weekly in all libraries.

Book crawl
Book Crawl is a library initiative aimed at children under 5. It
is one of Bookstart's key projects, promoting reading and enjoyment
of books and sharing stories with parents and carers. Bookstart is
a national programme that works through locally based organisations
to give a free pack of books to babies with guidance materials for
parents and carers. Book Crawl is available at all
Peterborough Libraries, including the Mobile library. The scheme is free, and in
order to take part all that is needed is for the child to become a
member of the library. Library membership is free of charge.
