With the Internet now available, the fields for research
have opened up to include sources from all over the world. Every
Peterborough library offers free access to the Internet and holds
books on family history to borrow.
Peterborough Libraries now subscribes to Ancestry.Com the
popular family history website where you can find census,
birth, marriage, death records and more. Free access to
Ancestry.com is only available from Peterborough Libraries by using
a People's Network computer in one of our libraries. Visit

Family history taster sessions
Are you interested in family history but not sure where to
start? Or have you started doing your family tree but are
struggling with all the different sources available?
We run taster sessions and workshops, please contact Archives
Services for further details.

The following magazines have been moved into the Local Studies
and Archives Room:

- Local History Magazine
- Local History News
These are available on the open shelves and can be browsed
whenever the library is open.

by using our enquiry
form. We offer a research service for more detailed enquiries.
There may be a charge for this service but you will be notified of
this before any work is begun. If you wish to use a microfilm or
microfiche reader during your visit please contact us to book a
machine.
