Subsidies were a common way to raise money for central
government during the Middle Ages. Surviving subsidy rolls are held
at the British Library and at The National Archives in Kew. The
rolls contain many personal names.
Nassaburgh Hundred Subsidy Assessments for 1580s and 1590s are
held at Northamptonshire Record Office within the Fitzwilliam
Collection.
