Mobile library

Peterborough's mobile library has a regular weekly route around the city of Peterborough and surrounding villages. See the timetable to find out when it stops near you. It carries a varied stock including board and picture- books for babies and toddlers, books and talking books for children and teenagers, fiction and non-fiction in standard print, large print and on talking books and a selection of DVDs.

You can join Peterborough Libraries on the vehicle or use your normal library card if you are already a member. Climb on board the Peterborough mobile library and our friendly staff will help you find something you will enjoy reading or watching. It runs weekly from Monday to Saturday and covers different areas of Peterborough. A request service is also available, for further information please contact the central library.

Special mobile

Peterborough's special easy-access mobile library has a dual function. It visits residential homes and sheltered housing complexes in and around Peterborough on a monthly rota to allow residents to choose books. (Staff deliver a fresh supply of library materials each visit to housebound residents). It also has regular weekly stops at Welland, Paston Ridings, Highlees, Leighton and Hampton Hargate primary schools.  These stops provide an opportunity for members of the public to use this library, using their Peterborough Libraries' membership card.

The Special Mobile is well stocked with large print books, talking books and videos as well as the latest fiction in standard print. The helpful staff will order items from other libraries if they are not immediately available on the shelves.

Library link service

Library link is Peterborough Library's home-delivery service for people who are having significant difficulty getting to a library themselves because of health or mobility problems or because of caring responsibilities.
