Vivacity is an independent, not-for-profit organisation with
charitable status. We manage many of Peterborough’s most popular
culture and leisure facilities on behalf of Peterborough City
Council.

Peterborough and its surrounding area has a rich history
and heritage which tells a fascinating story. Whether you call
Peterborough home, live nearby, or are just visiting, you can
explore it in lots of different ways.
You can visit our historic sites and discover amazing
artefacts, enjoy a historically themed tour, take in a talk,
or get spooked on a ghost walk. Maybe even come along and take part
in one of the many heritage events the city hosts every year.
There is something for everyone to enjoy.
Vivacity’s museums
& heritage service operates from three sites, the
historic city centre Museum, the Bronze Age Flag Fen site, and
Longthorpe Tower.
Could you be a part of history..
Did you, or a
member of your family or community, arrive in Peterborough during
the 1960s, 1970s and the 1980s from the Commonwelath? Do you
have a story to tell about your migration experience? If so,
the
‘Forty Years On’ project would love to hear from
you.
The project is collecting stories from people who arrived in the
city during that period to add to the oral history archive. To
find out more about the project, view the document attached below,
