Visitors found out about the history of
the series and saw how a family would have viewed the first
episode back in 1963, found out about the different
Doctors, designed their own monster, shared their
memories and even hid behind the sofa all over again.
To tie in with the exhibition, we staged a
Doctor Who fun day on Saturday June 2nd 2007, attended by over 2500
visitors. The event was staged in association with Hyde
fundraisers, a group who raise money for charity by dressing as
Doctor Who monsters for events, and raised over £3500 for Children
in Need and Help the Aged.
Visitors met a Sycorax, were
confronted by a Clockwork Droid, and ran away from an
Ood... with the Black Dalek Sec on hand to
exterminate all those who weren't enjoying themselves... even the
Tenth Doctor put in an appearance!
