Myths & legends exhibition

People have told tales round the campfire since the beginning of human history, and the hands-on exhibition at the Museum explored some of these classic tales down the millennia.

mythsVisitors read dragon tales and solved the riddle to pass the dragon and enter his lair, or visited an Egyptian tomb to unravel the story of Osiris and mummies. There was a chance to build your own totem pole and hear Native American stories, or explore our labyrinth and come face-to-face with the fearsome Minotaur.

Local legends were also explored, with information on the wealth of myths concerning Peterborough and the Fens, from ghostly jack-o-lanterns to the terrifying Black Shuck. (link to Black Shuck page)
