Talks and lectures
Peterborough has a whole range of talks, presentations
and lectures throughout the year, to appeal to both the specialist
or to those who are just interested. Our talks aim to be both
entertaining and informative and usually include aspects of local
history and/or relate to the museum's collections.
Experts from the museum are still available to be booked
as guest speakers even though the museum is closed.
We have a programme of evening lectures throughout the year,
as well as talks as part of our many events. In addition there are
additional lecture programmes provided by the Friends of
Peterborough Museum and the Peterborough Museum Society which are open
to all.
A number of museum staff give talks and
lectures on site or by going out to groups and educational
organisations. All our talks tend to be illustrated and last about
90 minutes including questions. We do charge a fee to cover costs,
staff time and help to generate income for the museum. This fee is
currently £40 for a talk, plus travel expenses if the venue is
outside of Peterborough.
Please click on the links below to find out
more about the talks given by our speakers, which are listed by
subject are or by speaker. Please contact us on

if you would like to book (all speakers are subject to
availability).
Many of Peterborough’s most popular cultural and sporting
facilities are part of Vivacity, an independent,
not-for-profit organisation with charitable status.

the trust on the Vivacity website.
