Exhibition by local artists at Peterborough Museum
A
new exhibition of artwork by a talented group of local artists has
opened at Peterborough Museum. The 'Coastal Drift' exhibition has
been produced by the View5 group of artists who have been working
in residence at the Old Still in Peterborough. The exhibition runs
until 23 May 2010.
The five artists from the View5 collective:
Anita Bruce, Kathryn Moore, Julie Reid, Sue Shields and Rene Viner
have all contributed works in different media to the exhibition.
Environmental change on the fringes of the British Isles is
represented with artworks produced in paint, print, pencil,
sculptural textiles and tapestry. The artists have been working in
partnership with the Museum whilst in residence at the Old Still on
Westgate Arcade for the last few months.
Gillian Barclay, Arts and Heritage Services
Manager for the City Council said 'We're delighted to be hosting
this exhibition of works from this remarkable groups of local
artists, and it has been a real pleasure for us to work with them
to promote art at the heart of the city over the last few
months.'
Throughout the exhibition, gallery
tours will be available by the artists every Tuesday at
12.30pm, with no need to book, just come on the day.
There is also a programme of family centred
