Lifeworks exhibition

The exhibition looked at the mysteries of the human body through hands on displays and simple experiments.

life exVisitors could find out where all the parts of the body are, how their joints work, test how quick their reactions were and find out the importance of fitness. The exhibition also compared the human body to those of animals, so that you could find out how a horse or fly sees.

The exhibition was complemented by displays of objects from the museum's own collections, including medical instruments from when the museum building used to be the city's hospital and information on local strongman Walter Cornelius. There was also a display on what archaeologists can tell about our distant ancestors from the human remains excavated in the Peterborough area.
