Museum facilities

Lift

The Museum is equipped with a lift that allows visitors to access all floors and galleries.

Museum facilitiesToilets and baby-changing

The Museum has public toilets that include baby-changing facilities and disabled toilet facilities.

Buggies & push-chairs

Buggies & push-chairs are welcome around the Museum, alternatively they can be left at reception upon arrival.

Car-parking

There is limited on-site parking facilities for visitors, apart from disabled visitors who can park on the hard standing and access the front door without encountering any steps. If the Museum car park is full we recommend either the Trinity Street pay & display car park behind the Museum (evenings & weekends only) or the Queensgate shopping centre car park (3 minutes walk away).

Cyclists

The Museum has three bicycle racks on the front of the building, and is only a short distance from Peterborough's 'Green Wheel' cycle path.

Refreshments

Although the Museum has no café inside the building, it is a couple of minutes walk from many cafés and shops in the town centre. We do offer refreshments during some of our weekend events and school holidays.

Security

For security reasons the public areas of the Museum are covered by CCTV cameras which do film throughout. We request that any large bags are left at reception upon arrival for security reasons. We reserve the right to refuse admission to any visitor on grounds of safety or security, and to ask to search any bags on request.

Vivacity

Many of Peterborough’s most popular cultural and sporting facilities are part of Vivacity, an independent, not-for-profit organisation with charitable status.

Find out more about the trust on the Vivacity website.
