Once the museum reopens we will also offer places to a
limited number of work experience students throughout the
year. We have volunteers in a number of key areas:
Collections - helping to document, store and
interpret the Museum's collections
Geology - helping to conserve and reconstruct
local fossil finds
Archaeology - helping to record finds onto the
local Sites & Monuments Record (note: basic archaeological
knowledge/experience is required for this role)
Education - helping to prepare and administrate
schools sessions, helping with session delivery (note: a full CRB
check may be required for this role) and much more
Visitor services - Meeting and greeting members
of the public; working in the Museum shop; helping set up/take down
exhibitions.
Events and marketing: helping to plan and run events; helping with
marketing the museum, helping with guided tours or being a costumed
interpreter for the museum.
