Playgrounds and youth facilities
We provide over 200 play areas for children and young people in
and around Peterborough. The equipment ranges from pre-school
doorstep facilities to activity areas for young people.
Initiatives to enhance play opportunities are undertaken through a
programme of improvements and by providing new facilities within
new housing developments. Many of the old play areas have
already been removed and replaced with new, modern play areas with
sturdy equipment on soft surfacing.
The provision of facilities such as Skate Parks, BMX tracks and
Multi-use Games Areas (MUGA’s) has increased the choice of
challenging outdoor activities for young people across
Peterborough.
There are skate parks open to the public at all times
in:
- Eye next to the Community Centre
- Fletton Recreation Ground

- Charteris Centre
