Traders on the farmers market

As part of Peterborough City Councils best practice it is routine for each farmer to be visited in their own surroundings to ensure that all produce is locally produced by the trader and that we are not selling any bought in items to our customers. We are currently in the process of carrying out these visits and all new traders will be visited prior to their commencement on Peterborough Farmers Market.  So far the following traders have been visited:

Moor Farm Meats

Moor Farm is owned and run by Andrew and Judith Jacobs. The farm is situated 7 miles north east of Peterborough in Newborough. The farm is mixed arable, with cattle and sheep, and is 500 acres/200 hectares in size. Moor farm produces Beef and Lamb and is currently looking in to have their egg certified for sale. There is an onsight farm shop selling both produce from the farm and from other local producers and the farm offers free educational visits to local schools and groups.

St Clares Nursery

This is a family run nursery that been established since 1998 and is situated on the edge of the Fens where the climate is ideal for growing. The perennials & shrubs are grown & overwintered outside which makes for plants that have good strong root systems & top growth.

Thorpe Latimer

The Watts family has farmed at Thorpe Latimer  Lincolnshire for over 100 years. The farm produces mainly Lincoln Red Beef and Lincolnshire Lamb. The meat is slow reared and hung for longer to improve the taste.  Anne Watts is currently in the process of setting up her farm shop and butchery.

Willow Brook Farm

Willow brook is a third generation family run farm that lies just outside Peterborough between Marholm and Ufford. Rosemary and her family rear cows and lambs on the farm and hunt for game on their own land.  All meats and products are prepared on site in the well equipped butchery and as well as selling their own produce in the Willow Brook Farm farm shop the family support other local producers by stocking all manner of local produce.
