Online sports bookings frequently asked questions

My membership number does not work?

If you are having any problems using your active card for online bookings, please contact one of the sports centres and they can check that all your details are entered correctly.
 

Who do I contact if I have any questions?

Please contact each relevant site for questions regarding bookings for that site.

What do you mean by membership number?

The membership number is the number printed on the back of your @ctive card. @ctive card holders are referred to as members on the online booking site.  If you do not have an @ctive card you can use the booking system but you will need to add your details and take a copy of your booking confirmation with you to the centre.

Active card holders do not need to take confirmation of their bookings as they are held on their card. If you do not have an active card but would like to know how to get one please see below.

How do I become a member?

To become a member you will need to purchase an active card, it costs £15 for Residents and Non-Residents and £7.50 for Concessions and is free for under 16s. 

Which leisure centres can I book online?

Online bookings are currently available at Bushfield and, Werrington Sports Centres. Not all activities are available to be booked online at each centre, see the section 'Are all the activities able to be booked online?'. Further centres and activities may be added in the future.

Where are the sites located?

  • Werrington Sports Centre, Staniland Way, Werrington, Peterborough, PE4 6JT
  • Bushfield Sports Centre, Orton Centre, Peterborough, PE2 5RQ

Are all the activities able to be booked online?

Certain designated activities can be booked on line. These are currently:

  • Squash
  • Badminton

How many bookings can be made in a 24 hour period?

The number of bookings in a 24 hour period are specific to the activity. Please see the section ' What are The Booking rules Per Site'.

Do I have to pay when booking?

All bookings will need to be paid for in advance by Credit or Debit Card. For non-members, confirmation of your booking (your booking reference) will need to be presented on arrival at the relevant centre.

How can I cancel a booking?

Web bookings can be cancelled before the confirmation "Checkout" payment screen. If you continue through to the payment screen there is the option to delete all or some of your bookings. Once a booking has been made the cancellation has to be made by contacting the relevant centre. Any cancellation fees follow the same policy as for any other bookings made by other means (walkin, telephone).

How can I view my future bookings?

If you are a member, when you log in to the site, there is an option shown on each screen to view future bookings. All future bookings are shown those booked online, via telephone or at the centre. Non-members can not view future bookings.

How can I see if I have paid for an activity?

Once the member has logged in to the site, there is an option shown on each screen, via a link button "view future bookings", to view future bookings. Against each activity it is shown if the booking has been paid for and any amounts due.

When can I make bookings?

Members can make bookings 1 week ahead and Non-members 6 days ahead.

How do I pay for bookings?

Bookings can be paid for using Maestro, Switch, Solo, VISA, Mastercard, JCB and Delta. All transactions are securely encrypted.

What is the booking horizon?

A booking horizon is the period of time from today in which you can make a booking. There is a 7 day horizon for members and a 6 day horizon for non-members.

Are there booking rules per site?

Each site has booking rules. This is to manage the booking process and give the greatest availability to all the people who attend the centres. See below for the booking rules per site.

What are the booking rules per activity per site?

Bushfield:

  • Badminton - All courts may be booked online. Customers may book a maximum of 1 court for a maximum of 2 consecutive hours (For example may book 9am and 10am but not 9am, 10am and 11am).
  • Squash - All courts may be booked online. Customers may book a maximum of 1 court for a maximum of 2 consecutive hours (For example may book 9am and 9.40am consecutively, but not 9am, 9.40am and 10.20am consecutively).
     
    Werrington:
  • Badminton - All courts may be booked online. Customers may book a maximum of 1 court for a maximum of 2 consecutive hours (For example may book 9am and 10am but not 9am, 10am and 11am).
