Packed line-up announced for Mayor's charity variety performance

Peterborough Male Voice Choir, WildCats Theatre School, Peterborough Poet Laureate Michael Riccardi and singer Becki Tse are among the acts lined up to perform at the Mayor's Variety Performance at the Voyager Theatre at The Voyager School, Mountsteven Avenue, Walton, Peterborough, on Saturday 25 September 2010 at 7pm.

The Houseband will open and close the variety performance which is raising money for the Mayor's charities which are Diabetes UK Peterborough, Macmillan Cancer Support and Peterborough War Memorial.

Also signed up to perform are singers Rowena Wyche, K&B Duo and James-Lee Campbell, singer songwriter Mark Horsley and singer and accompaniment Aidan Bell & Kirk Duncan. Dance acts include The Desert Dancers, Passion Dance Crew, Voyager Dance Elevations and Artistic Street Kids.

Former Peterborough Poet Laureate Mark Grist, musical comedian and improviser Tom Fox and young people’s musical theatre group Kays Academy are also part of the line-up.

The Mayor of Peterborough, councillor Keith Sharp, said: "I am delighted to be able to announce a really varied line-up of acts, all of whom are giving their time for free.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing the acts perform and I hope the night raises lots of money for my three charities. If you'd rather be in the audience than on the stage then tickets are on sale now."

The variety performance is being organised by Christine Cunningham, secretary of Diabetes UK Peterborough, and Deputy Mayor of Peterborough councillor Bella Saltmarsh.

Tickets cost £5 and are available from the Destination Centre on Bridge Street, Peterborough.
