As well as happy faces, a lot of presents
means….. a lot of recycling! To help with all the extra Christmas
packaging, Enterprise Peterborough is
adding extra green
recycling bin collections over the Christmas and New Year
bank holiday period.
Green bin recycling collections will take place weekly between
Tuesday 27 December and Friday 6 January 2012 on the same
collection day that residents are used to.
The city’s residents are asked to remember to recycle all that
extra packaging over Christmas, including, wrapping paper,
cardboard, food and drinks cans, plastic bottles, cartons, glass
bottles and jars and aerosols.
The additional recycling collections take the place of brown bin
collections for a couple of weeks, which tend to be minimal during
winter when gardens have stopped growing. Brown bins will not
therefore be collected between Monday 26 December 2011 and Friday 6
January 2012.
Residents who have garden waste to dispose of during this time
should take it to the Householders Recycling Centre on Welland
Road, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, PE1 3TD.
Collection days for the black household bins
will remain the same for every household over Christmas and New
Year period. Residents are asked to ensure that their bin lids are
closed and that there is no excess next to your bins.
