Tickets on sale for prestigious Mayor's ball

1 February 2012.

The Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor Paula Thacker MBE, is inviting local people to attend the annual Mayor's Charity Ball at the Marriott Hotel, Lynchwood, Peterborough, on Saturday 10 March 2012.

The evening will be a black-tie affair with a silver and black theme. It will begin with a cocktail drinks reception at 6.15pm, followed by a four-course meal which will be served from 7.30pm. There will be live entertainment and guests will have the opportunity to bid for special lots in an auction and win prizes in a raffle. A photographer will also be attending the event from 6pm allowing people to take away a memento from the evening.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Mayor's charities, which are Royal British Legion Women's Section and Kidney Research UK 'Find a Cure for Alex'. Tickets cost £45 per person.

Councillor Thacker said: "The ball is always a fantastic night out that gives people the opportunity to put on their finery, feel special and enjoy a memorable evening. Members of the public have traditionally supported the ball and I am looking forward to meeting local people and business leaders who have got behind the event, which is designed to raise money for the Mayor's charities."

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Mayor's office on (01733) 452319 or by emailing mayor@peterborough.gov.uk.
